My Own Backyard: Hours 213 – 220

Yesterday I spent a lot of time in my backyard photographing sentence art. I’m discovering I only need to go a couple hundred feet from my own bed to find intricate beauty — and incredible diversity.

When I first started photographing backgrounds for my sentences I started in my house and backyard because it was convenient. Considering I didn’t want to repeat backgrounds, I thought I’d use up that source pretty quickly. What I realized is my backyard is just like the old Raffi song – the garden is changing — every day.

At this point, I think my own backyard will provide an endless array of beauty, inspiration, change, and complexity… hey, do I smell a metaphor…?

I encourage everyone to look around. There truly is indescribable beauty at every turn. And we don’t have to go anywhere except our own backyard to find it.
